RRB NTPC UG Selection Process 2026
Selection under CEN 07/2026 involves the following stages:
- First Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-1)
- Second Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-2)
- Document Verification
- Medical Examination
The RRB may conduct additional computer-based tests if required. There is negative marking of one-third mark for each incorrect answer in the CBT examinations.
Important Change: Typing Skill Test Removed
For CEN 07/2026, the Railway Recruitment Boards have dispensed with the separate Computer-Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) for Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist posts.
However, candidates are still expected to have basic computer and typing proficiency. Their proficiency may be assessed after joining, and unsatisfactory performance may affect or delay confirmation or promotion.
Medical Fitness Requirements
Candidates must satisfy the medical fitness standards applicable to their preferred posts.
| Post | Medical Standard |
|---|---|
| Commercial cum Ticket Clerk | B-2 |
| Accounts Clerk cum Typist | C-2 |
| Junior Clerk cum Typist | C-2 |
| Trains Clerk | A-3 |
Medical standards include specified eyesight and other fitness requirements. Candidates who have undergone LASIK or other refractive-error correction surgery are not eligible for posts requiring A-3 medical standards under this notification. Different conditions apply to B-2 and C-2 posts.
Applicants should check their medical eligibility before choosing post preferences, because candidates found medically unsuitable for their selected posts will not be offered an alternative appointment.
